Leonie Ballard
MSc Occupational Therapy
Kia Ora, I’m Leonie. As a Mental Health Occupational Therapist, having worked across a variety of mental health roles since 2012, I take a whole-person view of wellbeing and prioritise creating a safe, welcoming, and non-judgemental space where you feel genuinely heard and understood.
In my practice, I focus on "occupations" , the everyday activities that give life meaning, from self-care and work to hobbies and social connections. I understand that when we face mental health challenges, participating in these daily tasks can often feel overwhelming, exhausting, or even lead to a loss of identity.
Integrating trauma-informed care, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) principles, and motivational interviewing, I provide tailored, evidence-informed support. I work alongside you to adapt daily tasks, build fresh habits, and gently re-engage with activities that bring joy and a sense of accomplishment.
Navigating the challenges of living in a modern world, I warmly welcome people from all communities and walks of life into an inclusive, affirming, and supportive environment. Together, we’ll focus on setting realistic goals, restoring structure, and rebuilding a sense of balance, purpose, and self-belief in your daily life.
I look forward to hearing your story.
