Amanda Browning
Bachelor Applied Social Science (Counselling)
Amanda Browning is a Registered Counsellor and a member of the New Zealand Association of Counsellors (MNZAC).
Amanda holds tertiary qualifications in counselling from Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology and the University of Waikato.
She provides an integrative and client-centred approach to counselling, working primarily from a psychodynamic perspective. Amanda also draws on a range of evidence-based modalities, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), tailoring her approach to meet the unique needs of each client.
Amanda has extensive experience working across a variety of community, educational, and health settings, including Gateway Housing Trust, Motueka Family Service Centre, Motueka High School, Relationships Aotearoa Nelson, and Nelson Bays Primary Health. Alongside these roles, she maintained a private practice, providing counselling services for ACC Sensitive Claims, holding Work and Income New Zealand (WINZ) approval, and delivering services through a Primary Mental Health Initiative (PMHI) contract with Nelson Bays Primary Health. Amanda now works full-time in private practice.
