Maryam Ardakani
Master of Counselling Theory
I am Maryam, a registered counsellor working within ACC Sensitive Claims pathways, offering a gentle, supportive, and culturally responsive space for people navigating trauma, distress, and the impact of difficult life experiences.
My practice is grounded in warmth, respect, and a humanistic, trauma-informed approach. I hold a strong belief that healing happens in relationships, and I aim to create a space where you feel safe, heard, and met as a whole person, within the context of your identity, culture, values, and lived experience.
I am mindful that each person’s story is shaped not only by personal experiences, but also by whānau, culture, environment, and wider social systems. I work alongside clients in a way that honours these influences and supports a sense of connection, meaning, and belonging as part of the healing process.
Within my ACC work, I support people through different stages of their recovery journey, moving at a pace that feels safe and right for them. In our work together, I will gently support you to explore what feels important, reconnect with your strengths, and rebuild a sense of safety and steadiness in a way that feels respectful and sustainable.
