Twané Chéze-Gower is a Registered Psychotherapist based in Marton, New Zealand, providing therapy to clients throughout Aotearoa both online and in person, in Whanganui.
Her work is grounded in the belief that meaningful change occurs when people feel genuinely seen, heard, and understood. Twané offers a warm, compassionate, and non-judgmental therapeutic space where clients can safely explore their experiences, gain deeper self-understanding, and develop greater confidence in navigating life's challenges.
Working from an integrative relational approach, Twané combines traditional talk therapy with body-inclusive practices that recognise the important connection between mind, body, emotions, and nervous system functioning. Drawing on modalities including what she's learnt as a graduate of the Hakomi Mindfulness-Based Somatic Psychotherapy, the Conversational Model of Psychotherapy as well as EMDR. In addition, she uses mindfulness, psychoeducation, and other evidence-informed approaches and therapy is tailored to each client's unique needs and goals.
Twané has a particular interest in supporting people who have experienced trauma, relational difficulties, anxiety, depression, emotional overwhelm, and life transitions. Her approach is collaborative and client-centred, with clients maintaining control of the therapeutic process at all times. Sessions move at a pace that feels safe and manageable, allowing space for both practical skill development and deeper exploration of the patterns and experiences that may be contributing to distress.

As an ACC Sensitive Claims provider, Twané is experienced in supporting survivors of sexual harm and complex trauma. She works alongside clients to strengthen their connection with themselves, develop effective coping strategies, and move towards a life that feels more authentic, empowered, and fulfilling.
