Dr Cherry Reihana (Ngāti Hine). She is passionate about walking alongside those who are finding life challenging, creating a compassionate space where they can feel heard, understood, and supported to move towards their goals. She supports clients to understand themselves further through psychological assessment and therapy. However, she also provides practical strategies that can help clients manage overwhelm, anxiety, and mood issues to get them closer to the life they want to be living. Cherry therapeutic approach is evidence based and value-led. Some of her values include a neuro-affirming, gender-affirming, culturally responsive and trauma-informed practice. She believes that therapy should be adapted to fit each client and their unique needs and challenges.
Cherry is trained in a range of therapeutic modalities, including DBT, CBT, ACT, Behavioural Therapy, and mindfulness-based approaches. She has experience supporting individuals with a variety of mental health challenges, some of these (but not limited to) include depression, anxiety, panic attacks, OCD, bipolar disorder, PTSD, C-PTSD and trauma-related difficulties. As a wahine Māori, Cherry has a passion for adapting therapy with kaupapa Māori models and approaches for whānau Māori clients.
